COASTGUARD WHANGAMATA CALLOUTS
NOVEMBER 2018. All assisted vessels and persons on board returned safely to port.
21 Nov. During a CRV Training session a call was made to assist Whangamata Surf Club IRB’s in the recovery of 3 abandoned kayaks at Whenuakura - Donut Island. CRV GJ Gardner Rescue duly returned to Base with the kayaks aboard.
Total Coastguard man-hours 7 hrs.
23 Nov. 9m Yacht. Motor problem. 1 POB. Near Whangamata harbour entrance. CRV GJ Gardner Rescue responded and tow assisted the vessel to a mooring.
Total Coastguard man-hours 8 hrs.
23 Nov. 8m Launch. Motor starting problem. 4 P.O.B. Near Slipper Island. CRV GJ Gardner Rescue responded and tow assisted the vessel to a marina berth.
