CRV GJ Gardner Rescue responded and tow assisted the vessel to the Whangamata boat ramp.

01 Jan. Power-boat. 7m. Engine failure. 3 POB. Whiritoa.

CRV GJ Gardner Rescue responded and tow assisted the vessel to the Whangamata boat ramp.

Total Coastguard involvement 8 hrs.

02 Jan. Launch. 11.5m. Fuel problem. 1 POB. Near Slipper Island.

CRV GJ Gardner Rescue responded and tow assisted the vessel to a Whangamata mooring.

02 Jan. Power-boat. 7.5m. No electrics. 5 POB. 2nm S of Whangamata Entrance.

CRV GJ Gardner Rescue responded and jump-started the vessel. Then escorted the vessel to the Whangamata boat ramp.

02 Jan. Power-boat. 6.5m. Engine overheating. 3 POB. 6nm SSE of Whangamata Entrance.

CRV GJ Gardner Rescue responded and tow assisted the vessel to the Whangamata boat ramp.

03 Jan. Power-boat. 7.3m. Damaged propeller. 3 POB. Near Haumanga Bay.

CRV GJ Gardner Rescue responded and tow assisted the vessel to the Whangamata boat ramp.

Total Coastguard involvement 14 hrs.

03 Jan. Personal Water Craft. Rope entangled around propeller. 2 POB. Beached N Terakihi Pt.

CRV GJ Gardner Rescue responded and with assistance from a Whangamata Surfclub IRB crew, freed the rope. The PWC was then escorted back to the Whangamata boat ramp.

05 Jan. Power-boat. 7.5m. Fuel blockage. 3 POB. Near Clark Island.

The skipper contacted Coastguard Whangamata of his situation and need of assistance. A Vessel of Opportunity (VoOP) nearby responded to the radio transmissions and advised that they being of sufficient size and experience offered to assist the target vessel. This was approved and the VoOP located and tow assisted the vessel to the Whangamata boat ramp. A special thankyou to CAROL ANN the VoOP for their assistance.

08 Jan. Launch. 11.3m. Engine smoke alarm. 4 POB. Near Whangamata harbour entrance..

CRV GJ Gardner Rescue responded and tow assisted the vessel to a Whangamata marina berth.

30 Jan. Yacht. 7.5m. Engine problem. 1 POB. Sailed to entrance and then required assistance to enter Whangamata harbour. CRV GJ Gardner Rescue responded and tow assisted the vessel to a harbour visitors mooring.
